What elementary school did they come from? Not Taylor I don’t think.
Also - DHMS is pretty terrific as far as I can tell. Ms. E Smith just won principal of the year.
They didn't just come from one elementary school. The APEs are all over. Heavy concentrations in the rich parts of Arlington though. So they're more concentrated in middle schools. Also, a lot of them left for private but now some have come back.
I live in one of the so called rich parts of Arlington. I hate tech in school. I’m furious about the damage done from closing schools. You’d definitely call me an APE, despite me having zero connection to the group. I don’t know a single family who left for private school who came back. Zero. I know loads who left.

racism by kids?
I highly doubt that. Dorothy Hamm is a very accepting school. Its namesake honors the school’s important role in U.S. civil rights history. And there are programs throughout the year that emphasize its unique history.
I didn’t realize that a teacher had spoken at a school board hearing but dhms actually is kind of a racist school. The kids are very casually racist. My son’s “friends” call him racial slurs because he is not white. It’s really weird since these people are supposed to be his friends. Lots of n words being called on the bus. His older sister says that wl is much better since it’s more diverse.
