We get them some things for Christmas and their birthdays. We budgeted $500 for their gifts for this year.

I get my kids what they ask for. Usually this means the big-ticket items they wouldn't get themselves. Even though the oldest is now able to buy her own big-ticket items, kids in their twenties need so many things, from a KitchenAid stand mixer to whatever. But last Christmas I took us all to Paris on December 26, because it's great to spend time together before they partner up or move to California, so there's that.

For birthdays if i am physically close to them - card, $200 and a bottle of wine - my standard gift. Else, a text and venmo the money.
