Actually I was reading an article last night that showed a lot of large protests going on that the media is not covering.....I wonder why This is from Hitler play book.....create the narrative and keep media in line. People need to wake up and yes we need to get bigger and louder.

This. A huge number of people are protesting but ever since Vietnam protests are no longer covered in the media. Hundreds of thousands of people protested the invasion of Iraq, but the media ignored it.

Hundreds of thousands are protesting now (if you add up the demonstrations all over the country) but the media isn't covering it.

Also, one national demonstration with hundreds of thousands of people protesting takes months to organize, and people here aren't the types to illegally take to the streets especially with a President who doesn't care about the law and has actually declared that he will send US citizens to El Salvadoran prisons if they don't fall in line.

So those street protests tend to work in favor of Republicans - see the Gaza and BLM protests. It's not effective.

The position ‘protests aren’t effective’ is….. ridiculous.

You may not have liked blm - but was it effective? Hell yeah. Try to find me one person who doesn’t know what blm stands for. Try to find me one cop who doesn’t know about the blm protests.

The idea that we are powerless feels so incorrect as to be troll worthy. We aren’t. Remember the Arab spring? Remember the anti apartheid protests? Remember Selma? No one was like ‘oh but we might be associated with the black panther party’ gtfo

Sure people knew what BLM stood for. And quickly decided they wanted no part of it. Americans hate civic disorder and react against organizations that try to stir the pot. BTW that included Jan6 insurrection it’s - their activities also failed to achieve any concrete progress.

I don’t think martial law is likely because it’s not needed. Trump can just laugh off protesters, ridicule them on social media, and use them to demonstrate that Democrats aren’t serious people. If you want change we need to look to the courts, lawsuits, primary challenges, and economic boycotts.

It is very odd you measure effectiveness by name recognition. I would measure it by legislation passed and elections won.

I do agree with him on some big issues like it was a catastrophic mistake listening to the elite tell us we needed to offshore everything in terms of manufacturing. Complete decimation of our manufacturing base was so epically stupid. I agree that many of our allies have taken advantage of our generosity for far too long and wow, look at that, all of the sudden Europe finds $800B to spend on their own defense. Amazing. I do agree we need to get very rough on people for flooding our country with fentanyl. DEI at work got completely out of hand.Trump is absolutely right on immigration.

Again, I may disagree with what a lot of what Trump does wrt constitutional law, crypto, and firing of feds. But he won the election.

You’re not a real Democrat, obviously, so maybe you could helpfully shut up?

We need to take to the streets! Every federal bureaucrat who has been laid off, asked to come back to the office just because jerky Republicans claim, without evidence, that Covid is “over,” every federal employee who has humiliatingly had to send sn email about what they do. We need to rise up!

The US is a large country. Most people live more than a days” drive from the Capitol. Unlike Europe, it’s hard to focus everything in one place. Protests are happening, but they’re dispersed across 50 states.

As others have mentioned, Trump is just itching for an excuse to declare martial law. All it would take is one false flag incident.

Many many many millions are horrified and they are not out in the streets putting that on display. It’s bizarre

BLM protests were anything but peaceful. What you are seeing now is a pushback. Remember the couple in NYC who threw a Molotov cocktail into a police car? They were professional people and all they got was a slap on the wrist.

As for Selma. I remember that. The protesters were not violent. Big difference.

Your point?
Lots of historical protests were violent. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it.

I agree protests aren’t effective or won’t be right now. look, Trump already tried to call out the national guard on protests in his last Presidency. He is more than willing to harm citizens. I think mass protests like that will only hope their agenda and have bring on martial law. We believe in the constitution and that the judicial branch will be listened to. I see more protests on street corners and at Tesla dealerships than ever.

This is an insane take
They can’t arrest legal American citizens protesting. They can’t legally, they can’t logistically.
The idea that we shouldn’t take to the streets and demand an end to this insanity bc of random spurious reasons is beyond ridiculous. Grow a pair

Take a look at the steps to the butterfly revolution. After attacking the Judiciary, the next stage is martial law.
We can’t end this because it would take Republicans in congress to vote against Trump, not because of protests.

That’s true of all protests!
But enough public exhibition of anger and it becomes hard to keep moving ahead with the insanity we’ve seen thus far

The poster you quoted is correct. They do lots of things they ‘can’t do’ because they’re fascist. Look at Project 2025- they want an excuse to declare martial law. Some believe the Insurrectionist Act will be invoked at the southern border next month.
