Just left Park City last night. Yesterday at Deer Valley it was so HOT! We were there two years ago and in comparison there was an incredible amount of snow in late March piled up all over the town. Now there really is not a lot of snow and a lot of mud. I can't even imagine how it will be in April.

My brother lives in Park City and said this year has been the worst snow year in the past years as there have been heat waves this winter/spring.

Go visit the University of Utah--then your kids can ski all they want and you can visit during their spring break which is early March.

Eh, spring skiing is great if you know what to expect. There's something to be said for long warm days on a less crowded mountain. We almost always ski during the last week of March since our state district is evolved enough not to tie spring break to a religious holiday.

Oh we ski then too, but we head to Breckenridge. Late April in PC is very risky. Too low of an elevation

PP here and we're at Breck right now. It's just as warm here although there's a chance of snow the next few days. I think this is the warmest spring break we've had up here--last year the snow was really good this week.

Op here. Not against Breck just already have plane tix. Kids are really into terrain parks so maybe they can do 100 runs there. Also love Woodward.

There won't be ski lessons for kids if you were planning on that. You could probably do private but ski school ends 4/13. Park City, in general, gets less snow than Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons. We were at Alta/Snowbird for Christmas and they were having a lower snow year. We got 3 feet while we were there but some places weren't open yet for skiing.

On the plus side, Park City will be open and the crowds will probably be lower. The town is nice and you will probably be able to get restaurant reservations.

I hate DC's spring break timing.

You will be okay if you and your kids ski in the higher elevation areas almost exclusively (Jupiter, Mckonkie's, Thaynes, 1990). If your kids like the terrain park, it is usually open throughout closing day. Depending on their ages, they might also like Woodward. Staying in town is a great idea because you can walk to restaurants and shopping. Look up what is playing at the Egyptian while you are there. If you plan to buy an Ikon pass for next year, buy it now and take a day or two at Solitude because you get unlimited access to Solitude if you purchase next year's Ikon pass now. If it's hot, you could rent road bikes one day and ride around town on the Millenial Trail. There is also great hiking in SLC on Shoreline Trail by the University of Utah.

What do you have against Breck if you have epic passes?

assuming flights are booked..... and maybe lodging too.
