I’m an OG tutor in the Maryland suburbs and I’ve also been feeling badly that parents are desperately looking for tutors and we are out there but there isn’t a way to connect.

I know that ASDEC has a waitlist, and that both ALTA and IDA have provider lists by states. I am not on either the ALTA or IDA provider lists yet because I am not fully certified, but I am fully trained and qualified (just need supervision hours). I wonder if we could/should put together some sort of provider directory? I wonder if Jeff would let us do that and house it here?

At this point, OP, it's amazing that your kid has done so well. You should be very proud! I would go with a private tutor. I would avoid the schools. Ask around; you can start with ASDEC. I can only speak for Siena. We happen to be there right now and I have to say we're disappointed. Pulling mine out after this year. We just have not seen the progress we've expected and for the $50K tuition? Going back to a private tutor and public school. Mine has it all -- significant dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, poor processing, EF, ADHD.

A good dyslexia tutor will test your daughter to see what skills she's got and what she needs to learn, and then teach her those skills she's missing. You can absolutely still do this in high school! For tutors, try ASDEC and Kids Up Reading Coaches.
