This isn't true. I know people IRL who are undocumented who use tax id numbers rather than social security numbers and pay federal taxes and social security taxes - the later despite not being eligible to ever receive the SS money they pay in. I have no idea the percentage of people working under the table to those using tax id numbers, but one of the many reasons that the IRS is not supposed to share info with any other government agencies without a warrant is that they want as many people as possible to pay taxes. This is bad news for revenue collection and will drive a lot of people to under the table pay. It will be a big loss for revenue collection.

Billions? illegals do not exactly rake it in, so would be taxed at the lowest rate and get most of it back as tax return or Earned Income Credit.
