Same. Well actually, some were more but I got the government rate, back in the day of travel for work.

I love the embassy suites in Seattle. Walking distance to the ferry, shops and pinball museum, beautiful rooftop pool, laundry

I was going to say the best Western in Monterey!

+1 to this.

The Fountainbleau in Vegas. But it may have been cheap because it had just opened. In any event, it was quite nice.

OP: You might want to put some time parameters on your question. Like "in the past year," etc. I've stayed in many amazing places that were under $300 a night but may no longer be in that range.

Hotel Jackson in Jackson WY if you go at the right time (not Xmas week).

Last year I paid $600 for the Breakers in Palm Beach at a conference rate. Normally $1000+. Definitely worth $600.

I stayed at Inn of the Governors in Santa Fe many years ago but think their prices are still very reasonable and under $500/night. Really enjoyed it - had a fireplace in the room that I used every night. Good location in the city. There’s a pool for warner months. Restaurant had a nice vibe and the staff were all really nice. These days I usually stay at four seasons type places but I really love it when I find moderate hotels that provide a lot of bang for the buck.

It's harder and harder though to find the decent $300-400s as most increase to 500 or the cheap stay $200.

We used to book at the $1000-1300/night Caribbean paces for the family but now they are all nuts into $2300+! Ugh.

I find the true $500s places to now be in the $800s

I agree

Pp here- I, too, tend to think you can’t stay anywhere nice under $200/ night but it does, of course, depend on the season. I just looked at the Hilton in Santa Fe and it’s under $200 / night right now.

We live near San Francisco. Twice we’ve taken “staycations” in hot weather (we don’t have A/C) to the Ameswell in Mountain View and really like it. It’s only 30 mins from home but the hotel is clean and nice, the sound proofing is good and the bar / yard games are fun. The pool is little so hit or miss depending how crowded it is.

For work last year I stayed at the Hilton in Downtown Santa Fe and really liked it. The pool was beautiful, it was easy to walk everywhere, and I liked the decor. There was a fireplace near the pool but I didn’t use that.

Have you stayed in a hotel in a whole? A roadside Homewood Suites in Lubbock, TX is $200 a night.

DP. Hmm. Weird because there are tons of good options off site within 15 minutes of WDW for under $200/night. Williamsburg is often under that price unless it’s a holiday or graduation or something. We too often stay for under $200/night. We sometimes stay nicer too though. It just depends on the time of year and situation.
