I only had roommates one year in college. I’ve not had roommates on a much lower salary than 65k. You can always find ways. I don’t trust random people with my person, my pets and my things, and like my own space and quiet.

Right, I get it, we can’t expect ownership on two incomes, let alone one. Kids are still debatable.
But a friggin studio and a Toyota Corolla?!

We are no-roommate people.
college kids have singles, parent lives alone in 5 bedroom house and I live in a four bedroom.
I’d rather scrimp on something else.

Roommates are gross, to start with.

No one is asking adults to share a room. Roommates mean they're sharing an APARTMENT.

I personally loved roommates in my 20s (for most of my 20s, it was my townhouse and I rented it out to close friends) and then I lived with DH after marriage. I don't think I missed out on anything by not having my own place.
