Our kids attended a different school but we considered Maury. Seems truly amazing. Good academics lots of social support. The only reason we didn’t switch to Maury (our inbound) was the middle school feed. We toured Eliot and decided it wasn’t for us.

Do it. Then decide. Take it a year at a time. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with 3rd grade at maury compared to your earlier experience. You have some time to make a plan for middle school. Basis is not all that hard to lottery into - although I would not myself go that route. EH is substantially improved in recent years, has math and english acceleration, and is no longer such a crazy middle school choice. $$$ saved by public elementary school can be significant.
