Europe is a big continent made up of 50 countries about 750 million people. There really is no such thing as European.

You could divide it more regionally - Baltics, Scandinavia, Mediterranean etc or Central, Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern etc

I don't think you will find that culturally a Nordis person has much in common with a Cypriot or a Polish or a Portugese person. Very different cultures.

That said, my husband is from Scotland. All good, no bad. His family is all still there so vacations are really just taking the kids to see the grandparents. Caring for elderly/sick parents from another country is also tough.

I guess I mean more mainland Europe... French, German, Italian, etc. I know there are broad generalizations but IME there are also lots of commonalities so really would love to hear people's observations.

There is very little commonality between a greek and a norwegian, or spanish vs german.

Not in my experience. Having lived around Europe and dated various Europeans, I find there are certain commonalities in temperament and traditions.

Then answer the dang question!!!

same being married to my English DH, but OP doesn't consider them "European".

Um... the UK doesn't consider itself "European" either. Ask your husband.

In Europe, it's much more normal to sleep together on the first date, and the guy wont judge you for it. Things get intimate a lot faster, and there's usually not the dancing around, dating other people game that happens in the US. Things can get very serious, very fast. And if you sleep together and the guy is still actively taking you on dates, then he will usually expect monogamy, on both sides, and be shocked/dismayed if you continue to date aorund.

Speaking in generalities, they are a lot more emotional than American men. That can be great for romance and them coming on strong with how much they love you... but not so good when theyre upset or angry about something.

I don't know about dating European men, but I've found dating European women to be really fun. They're more into traditional gender roles and less into political correctness (or anti political correctness) than most American women. More worldly. Less judgmental about sex.

Men are men the world over. It's all pretty much the same/pretty easy to win whatever man you want.
