I have never met this guy, but it's not a conspiracy that he is a former teacher and then union staffer. That's a very common route for someone transitioning from education to politics.

I'd be more alarmed if the Ed committee didn't have staff with appropriate backgrounds.

Except they don’t have “education backgrounds.” They are paper pushers and bean counters, not educators and in many cases not ever parents.

He's taught at Seneca Valley, RM, WJ, and Whitman. Sounds like an "education background" to me.

It is not an education job.

Teaching? I'd call that an education job.

It is not a teaching position. Read the thread.

Maybe you should read the thread. A PP claimed: Except [EC committee staff] don’t have “education backgrounds.” They are paper pushers and bean counters. That is false in this case, as the staffer is in fact a former teacher.

Thanks for making the point once again that he was just put in this job for cronyism.

How many more times do you want to repeat that? He is unqualified for this position but got the job as payback to MCEA.

Of course he's qualified. It would be weird if he had no experience in education. Being an MCPS teacher and union leader are great experiences for a committee staffer.

Not at all. Keep saying you do not know what the job actually involves.

The job involves knowing a lot of information about how MCPS works or, in many cases, has not worked.

Great! Write a check for $10,000 and send it to MCPS today so other people don’t have to have their taxes raised!

I can smell the MAGA on you.

Maybe it hasn’t fully erupted yet and is just under the skin festering, but you are ready to push for vouchers.

Np but many people don’t want another 3.5% tax hike who are not MAGA.

And using MAGA as an insult is overused, weak and doesn’t pack the sting you want it to.

I worked during years of extreme daily violence. The union buried their head in the sand and admin retaliated against teachers who tried to make reports.

It makes perfect sense that the folks staffing the Education committee have an EXTREMELY BIASED education background.

Fixed it for you.

There is a thing called conflict of interest but you Trump lovers have no idea what that means or how it taints government. You also love bribes, gifts and double dipping.

Yes, the notoriously pro organized labor Trump lovers.

This guy was a classroom teacher, and then a union leader. Most public school teachers in MoCo are also union members, so I'm extremely confused about why you think this is so far beyond the pale. It's just a very very normal background.

Normal background for what? A secretary?
