Girls don’t wear these dresses twice. It is the same event.

If money is tight, yes. Otherwise, get a new dress.

Lulus or macys. Or resale shops.

But if she still loves the dress, or if you just got laid off, I think it’s fine to rewear. Her friends won’t care. I didn’t get a new dress for either prom and I lived.
I’m typically very against one time fashion but there’s a good resale and donation market for prom dresses.

new dress. Doesn't have to be expensive. Got my daughter a beautiful dress, good quality fabric for $85 at Macy's.
Windsor may be cheaper but fabric is cheap quality as well, which is fine, they are glittery.

send the dresses to college with her.
Or to a younger sister/cousin/neighbor.

They will get used again.

I re-wore my prom dress to a college formal. She can re-wear it, just not two proms in a row.

new dress for her new prom, same dress if she is invited to another prom. and save them for college formals.

So maybe this is about you and how you spend. I wore a $50 Talbot's dress for my wedding (which was low cost and non materialistic) and rewore it many times. I also wore a prom dress once and donated it to Goodwill. People are more complex than your judgmental ways can handle.

As a teen I wouldn't have wanted to go this in my own but if there was some social movement against materialism I totally would have reworn.

I always went to JCP for prom dresses.

A new dress. It's a special occasion! That being said dresses are way too expensive. I'm looking now with dd and everything in store is $200+ unless you go to Windsor type stores and then they look really cheap.
