I'm the PP who posted about tent caterpillars. We had a bunch of apple trees and IMO apples aren't worth it because they are so susceptible to pests.

The smaller ones, yes. I've had an immature tree completely knocked down. So fence around the smaller ones.

Our fig tree is very prolific. We've actually grown three more smaller ones in our yard just by planting a cut limb. They love this environment.

Paw paw are native and easy. Need two to pollinate.
