My 8th grade DS goes to one- the trainer comes up with an individual workout plan, and it is closely supervised at all times (with form corrections made etc). Progress is measured periodically. The place my son attends is mostly tweens-teens and he loves it. He does strength training, some agility type training etc.
That sounds perfect! Would you mind sharing the name of the facility that your DS trains at? It sounds exactly like what we are looking for. A place with mostly tweens and teens sounds exactly right. Thank you!
Yes it is great! We made a cross country move a few years ago so the location won’t help. Google “adolescent sports training” or “teen sports performance” or similar in your area and there is almost certainly something similar. Our metro area has several.
Same. We go to a franchise that specializes in training youth athletes. 7th grader goes 1-3x per week depending on the season. I make him go if he wants to keep playing his 3 sports for injury prevention, as he's tall, like OP mentioned her kid is, and he's more prone to growth-related injuries.
