We fly United most of the time so we have the United Chase card and rack up lots of miles on it. They give you free bags on every flight as well as 2 club passes per year. We moved up to Silver status which gives a few more perks as well.

Foreign airlines have miles programs and you can use them to buy domestic flights. Sometimes for much less than if you used United or AA miles.
