If he does that, Tesla sales will drop like a rock, even more than they're done recently. No one will buy a car that the billionaire owner can just decide to disable at will.
Obviously he's not going to hurt his bottom line more than he has to. He's very impulsive and flits from shiny bauble to shiny bauble: once he's bored with destroying the federal government, he will move on to something else, and feds/Democrats will be the least of his concerns.
The guy has extremely very poor impulse control with no moderation sense (disparate businesses, fathering 14 children with 3 women, etc).
He's already torched Tesla sales in Europe and is on the way here in America due to his polarizing/extremist politics. He ended up having to purchase twitter because of he signed a contract with no due diligence at a greatly inflated price. Dumb-dumb move - just like now with DOGE.
Also agree with the other poster who said he'll move onto another project when he gets bored.

I just asked Grok and it states, yes, the vehicles can technically be disabled or have certain features turned off remote by Tesla corporate, thanks to their over the air (OTA) software capabilities.
I don't see any information that this can be large scale targeted...but certainly a double-edged sword of convenience for recovery and updates, but does raise questions.
To add, think about how many of these daily armed car jackings would cease to be productive (or exist!) if one could just type a code on your iphone (or however this works), bringing your vehicle to a halt, locking the suspects inside your car until aw enforcement arrives. Wow.

I note here that they're prohibited in most European countries.

This is not just limited to Tesla's nor just electric vehicles.
