SYC is the ONLY team I know where each team is responsible for team fees. Where the coach will tell you which tournament to play in and how many tournaments to play in. Team fee is collected and pays for the coach car rental, hotel and food.
It gets even messier when your child is a future player and is basically on the second team but can be called up to the first team.
Bolded is the standard everywhere. If a club includes tournaments in fees, families are still responsible for coach's travel and accommodations. Who else would tell you what tournaments to play? You think that should be up to the parents? I'm confused by what you are saying or you must not have been at other places before.
Players getting called up from the second team to the first is also pretty common everywhere unless you carry a roster of 20+.

The non-refundable deposit is normal; no total price listed is not normal.
Other clubs have sent out offers, did they post club fees for the upcoming year?

Not standard at the two clubs my son's been with. Club picks the tournaments, not the coach. Club pays for the coach's travel, not the parents. No extra fees per tournament except your player's and your travel.

This was told to me directly by an SYC parent who has multiple kids (one on SYC and others at my kid's club). Their payment system seems to be different than other area clubs.
Can't speak to talent to 2010 but when I saw them play in the fall they looked pretty good to me.
Keep drinking those kool aids you saw wrong team then, 2010 are horrible
no they one of top defense in the country
