Carmax passed. I submitted to Carvana and even though I was supposed to get an instant quote, the email I received said an advisor would reach out, so I'm not holding my breath.

The local dealers I've gone to have passed as well.

Interesting.

Except that people judge you for driving one.

The people who are judging are the ones who have a problem.

Unless it is a cybertruck.

Exactly. In the Washington DC area, I refuse to judge Tesla sedan owners: they bought reasonably-priced cars with a lesser environmental impact, knowing Musk was a little crazy, but before he turned out to be a Nazi destroying our government.

Cybertrucks are another story. They are extremely heavy, and they have an even smaller front safety bumper than other large vehicles, which is very dangerous in a collision. They were never allowed for sale in Europe, not for political, but for safety reasons. I definitely judge all Cybertruck owners.

Read up on all the new EV models that are out or are about to come out and then go test drive them. There is a lot of innovation in the space that is not Tesla.

If you continue to drive your nazi-mobile, damn right I am judging you

Exactly! The drivers I am most concerned about are the dangerous drunk/ weed smoking drivers or the aggressive, stupid drivers weaving thru traffic and cutting me off.

A LOT of people have them in my city. Any one judging them must spend a lot of time muttering to themselves. Besides, they aren't paying my bills.

+1 That's what DH is planning. We drive our cars until repairs become too costly or inconvenient to keep them. Our 2017 S has more years to go.

^Downside is Nissan is a nearly dead car company.

Nissan Ariya. Its understated but has much nicer interior features than many of the other EVs. Although, I also have the platinum +

Also, Nissan has years of experience with all electric cars compared to the newcomers.

I'm going to stick up for the Chevys! I have a 2017 Volt, bought used 2 years ago. I have run up the mileage to 120k (long commute) and have had exactly ZERO issues. Those cars are out of production sadly, but if I needed to replace it, I'd look at the Chevy Bolt, I'd look at the bigger one.

My Chevy before this (a 2011 HHR) is still running strong at 250K! So, Chevys have a good track record and aren't run by a crazyman! You don't need to spend $$$ on some weird brand ev to get a good dependable one.

Porsche Taycan. EVs depreciate like a stone. Just get one that's two or three years old.
