She specified that she didn't want a resort that was all white people. So maybe "ethnicity" wasn't the exact correct term--but OP obviously wants racial diversity.

I mean, what else would she mean? "Economically diverse" people wouldn't all be able to afford a "high end" (as specified by OP) resort in a tropical (again specified by OP) location.

I mean, the business model is most likely “locals serving white people”. Or at least “locals serving Americans with money.” I think that’s what they’re hoping for.
You could try a resort owned by non Americans. Meliá, for example, has resorts in the Caribbean. They’re a Spanish company so attract a lot of Europeans. Might feel a little more diverse. They have a bunch at different price points but the nicest ones are pretty nice.

I was recently at the Four Seasons in Philadelphia. Fantastic hotel. Great spa. Great location walkable to museums and Reeding Terminal. Extremely diverse (racially) clientele (but not diverse socio-economic I assume).

Actually, resorts can be quite diverse, in terms of the diversity of US citizens taking advantage of their offerings. Additionally, many Caribbean resorts have Latin American guests from many countries.

They want tasteful diversity, mostly white people of course, but with just the right sprinkling of well behaved English speaking “others.”

They definitely don’t want the kind of diversity where -they- are the diversity, otherwise they wouldn’t be posting this type of question here…
