I was going to say this—a large private school might be interested.

Did you learn another language from this career?
This may not help full time, but part time wise ...have you looked into being an online language tutor? It can be a quick way to make some side income.

In a low economic growth environment, where there is a lot of consolidation at the top, most of the jobs you will find will be corporate - like Amazon. But I agree with the idea of schools or construction.

I'd advise you to stay within the non-profit sector where the work involves grants or government contracting. From your description, what you were doing is project management. I wouldn't say you did compliance or auditing, those are professional skills that take years to get licensed in. I'm a licensed CPA and CFA and I now work in financial analysis for private sector; previously was in accounting firms. The work is nothing like what you are doing. The financial and compliance, the analysis, and the psychological mentality involved are all different. You'd have an easier time transitioning to a non-profit. I'm saying this as I have tried to transition into non-profit before and found it not easy. Often I made it to the final round, only to get passed over by someone with non-profit grant experience because they had the exact experience, which I did not. You will waste less time this way.
