Read the room FCPS — no one else is getting a raise. We can’t afford to then pay for yours.
FCPS always asks for more than they will ever get.
FCPS is spending $200 million on the ELL population. That is exponentially more in the past 5 years than they've ever spent. Start cuts there.
Is that an accurate number? If so, it’s an obscene amount of money for a single county to be spending on this. It’s a very large amount of money to spend NATIONALLY.
It was the subject of a recently deleted thread. The amount of kids who have shown up in FCPS classrooms from the border in the last four years that cannot speak a word of english is insane.

I think it's just a money grab capitalizing on all the new residential construction and visible affluence of the area for no other reason other than skimming more of it. I don't see better public services than 10 years ago, transit still sucks, and schools are the same or cutting things.

I just got my assessment and it's way up this year.
Ours as well. Up 14%.
Yup. And there’s no way I can sell for that
If you think it’s wrong, appeal it. I am tired of people complaining about their increased assessments but never the increased value of their house.
