EB-5 visa requires you to invest $1 million in a business and hire at least ten Americans (the amount invested might be less in less populous areas - feel free to correct me). This golden visa will allow people to just outright buy their way into the US for $5 million. Dangerous stuff as it may attract all kinds of the wrong individuals.

Let's not forget that Osama Bin Laden was a multi millionaire and could have purchased a golf visa for everyone of the 9/11 terrorists. Hamas, drug cartels, and every terrorist group in the world can easily find a way to buy a gold visa.

This is so disgusting that I feel.like vomiting. I knew there was no depth to trump's depravity but I was wrong. How much of a kickback is he getting.

I don't think any green card applicant is exempt from security checks, no matter what grounds.

It’s not a new idea.

It's a joke of epic proportions. Nobody who is a decent person will be moving here for $5M. Are you kidding? If they had that much they would not be in our shithole country. They would go on holiday here, maybe if they need our medical attn they would come for it. But we have only McDonalds to offer them. We're not Italy with their epic food, beauty and culture. Not France with their same. Not Spain with their same. We all want to leave the US! Only people who have everything would want to come here. We will get nothing out of them except that $5M which most I'm sure goes to Trump. Immigrants who come here like my parents did they are hungry for success and they contribute to the society by building businesses and adding to the knowledge of this society. People who already made their fortune are simply giving money to rich companies and living their best lives, taking from Americans who earned through their hard work contributing to the economy of this country.

They may not want to actually come here. Having a US passport opens travel & investment access for rich people from countries that have been sanctioned and are therefore restricted.
It’s why the EU has been worried for years about little countries that do this, because that citizenship comes with access to EU passport without background checks.

A better choice would have been to lift the requirement to spend 6 months a year in the YS. If I’m that rich, I want to come and go at will.

This has been around forever, and pretty much everywhere.

I guess it so the rich from other countries who come here to have their kids can still do it after he gets rid of birth right citizenship
