Cistco does have broccoli, but it's in a bag cut into florets rather than a whole head. They also have spinach in the plastic tub with all the other greens. I shop at Costco for their fruits. They consistently have the best quality for the best price on fruit, especially berries, which my kids devour. I do still have to supplement with the grocery store because I have trouble going through their quantities of vegetables, except for greens. A bag of their broccoli will last me at least 4 dinners and we don't necessarily want to eat broccoli 4 nights a week.

So we go through a lot of produce and fruit every week.

I know Aldi and Lidl are cheap for packaged goods but have limited and lower quality produce many times

Trader Joe’s is okay but a little more expensive.

Whole Foods is quality but takes all the money. Moms is amazing but also tends to be pricey.

We tried Costco, but they didn’t carry cauliflower or broccoli heads or spinach. It seems hit or miss and takes forever to go there.

For Produce — where can I save money and get decent quality! Should I give Lidl another chance? Wegmans!

We are also mainly vegetarians and cook from scratch.

We use Costco for sweet onions, tomatoes, peppers, spinach, salad kits, mushrooms, lettuce, cucumbers, fruits etc.

We use Indian grocery stores as well as Asian grocery stores for okra, curry leaves, ginger, different types of cut and frozen veggis, fruits, brocolli, cauliflower, beans etc.

We patronize multiple Asian stores - Korean, Chinese etc - and the quality and price is phenomenol.

We will buy from WF also but generally we buy dairy and poultry from there.

My Asian MIL is very wary of H mart produce because of pesticides? Is this legit concern?

It’s kind of off and on. Sometimes they are pretty expensive but they have some good buys pretty often.

Agree with Korean and Hispanic stores (usually owned by Koreans too). Lotte, Hmart, global, fresh world and such.

I love going to farmers markets but, at least by me, they are the most expensive of all.

Have to go to the ones on the farm not the pop up parking lot kind.

Thanks for this. I’m so sickened by the WaPo’s biased headlines that I’d like to cut out Whole Foods. We don’t always go there, but could count on getting better produce there.

Any other suggestions if there’s no Hmart close by?
