+1. Amazing how many people push their kids in MS and don't understand this.
Also while we are at it, putting your kid on advanced math track when they are not a math kid can backfire too.


OP here: No pushing on our end...HS level FL beginning in Grade 6 is the default for "enrichment" students at IB middle schools. It seems insane to me based on my very non-academic MS experience, but c'est la vie.

The same foreign language course can be retaken in high school (even if student passed the course in middle school) and then the actual high school grade can go on the transcript instead of the middle school grade. That can be a good way to fulfill the high school foreign language requirements and earn an easy A.

That your kid thinks they will never get into college in getting a B in MS is a parenting issue. Your kid is probably going to have a nervous breakdown at some point in HS or college because you are pushing too hard.
