Isn't failing to call a body of water by its legal name inappropriate, particularly if the AP is insisting on doing so to tweak/irritate the President? The First Amendment doesn't mean you get to break the White House rules on media behavior.
Calling speech like that 'misbehavior' is a gross violation of the first amendment. I can't believe how many MAGAs sound like commies.
It's not up to you or me to draw the line as to what is misbehavior. There is a legal name for the body of water in question. If you are going to have the right to ask questions of the President, you are required to use the legal name of that body of water. If you refuse to do so, how is it a violation of your First Amendment rights to deny you a permanent pass?
Remind me where in the 1st Amendment it says you have to use legal names for things when you talk to the President specifically?
Also, the quibble isn’t that they aren’t using it when talking to him. It’s that they aren’t using it in their own publications regardless of whether those refer to the President.
And you know, that DC motorcyclist who flipped the bird at the President’s motorcade a few years ago won her 1st A suit. Because the 1st A protects even disrespectful speech. And speech you don’t like. And speech the President doesn’t like.

The same reason that Congress is saying nothing.
Lack of character.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Jim Acosta is the one who suggested they do this. He also said the next step, after a lawsuit should be a blackout of news on Trump. Sounds like they’re listen to him.
Oh, good. I like his idea of the blackout on news coverage and just suggested that in my previous post.
SNL should do the same. They can make fun of other people in the admin but completely ignore T.

This would play into Trump's hand letting him say they chose not to attend.

It's a body of water. That's international. The US can call it whatever it wants but it doesn't have to be catered to internationally. It's also been referred to as the gulf of Mexico since 1600s.

I think they’re testing this because this is exactly what Ohio’s Congress is trying to pass wrt its colleges. The widening of facts and history.
