Winchester is a cute revolutionary war town and they have a pretty good children’s museum.

George Washington's Headquarters is across the street from the children's museum and is low-cost and tiny, which is nice for kids' attention spans.

https://www.westoaksfarm-...arket.com/ Apple picking, festivals, playground, other fruit picking, live music certain weekends, lunch

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley - museum itself might not be super interesting to kids, but their gardens are very nice and often have special exhibits. https://www.themsv.org/events/scraposaurs/ is the one coming up. There's also a bamboo garden which is really cool to walk through.

Dinosaur Land isn't too far out of the way and neither is the drive-in theater. https://www.thefamilydi.com/

NP. I've always wanted to take my kids to Hagley (nearby in Delaware ) but haven't gotten around to it.

You could also go to a glass blowing demonstration.

If your kids are little, include a stay at Rocky Acre Farm

+1

Beaver Creek Farm is another hit for young kids. Lots of room to run and easy fishing.
