Ireland and Mexico (not a super touristy spot, beach resort there was fine but not notably friendly)

I’m a little biased because my husband is from there, but I was surprised at the friendliness of people in Ecuador. It’s been a number of years but I remember being there and thinking that everyone was welcoming and friendly to the extent that it stood out.
