Subject: Delta offered us $1500 to take a later flight with a connection
Lesson learned - never check meds no matter what. Tampons? Dumb - you could have purchased a lot, and how many do you really need in 6 extra hours? We’ve done this and airlines often live the families accepting it bc one large family can usually clear the overage. We have 4 kids so it’s easy for them. If no one is taking the voucher, you can ask for a higher amount.

I’d never do this traveling with kids. And even when traveling solo, I’m usually rushing home to help relieve my spouse with the kids.

I travel a lot and get an offer maybe 20% of the time. I never take them, as my trips are for busines and arriving a day later isn't a feasible option. But if I was retired, I'd totally do it. My father did it and used the voucher for a nice trip to Montana in off-season.
