Maryland imports 40% of its electricity. We don't generate enough.

A not-thrilling part of that podcast, the CEO of PJM says some states, like WV who's an energy exporter, may threaten to "keep their electrons."

Nope, same thing happened with Pepco.

I work in energy. Your bills are only going up.


I'm in MoCo, and I've had no surprises in my bills this year with Pepco and Washington Gas (my house is half gas, half electric heating). I keep my house very warm (75-77). Bills are roughly the same as last year. I have a heat pump that was replaced about five years ago. If my bill went up 4x, I'd call the electric company to look into it.
