DP here. Many foreign carriers charge a fee to cancel points reservations. I know Virgin and Air France too. We too are booked on points and have no plans to cancel. Why would we? The trip is going to cost food and activities but no flights or lodging.

I don’t feel the need to cancel because I got the flights with points. If I hadn’t we likely would cancel.

Same. I have zero concerns about my job. No matter what happens to the economy, my job is going nowhere. DH could potentially lose his if things get bad, but I don't think he would have too hard a time finding a new one. That said, after the trips we have booked now (Feb, April, June) we won't book any other trips requiring flights until we see how things settle.

We already have Europe tix for 2 weeks in August. We gotbthem in October with points. Otherwise, we likely wouldn’t be spending right now. Our jobs are not dependent on the federal govt but Trump/Musk are screwing up the economy big time and it will harm everyyons but the oligarchs.

+1 I'm flying AA out of DCA for work next week. Very worried.

I already booked flights for our trip to CA to visit family for a wekk. But, that might be it for this year. We usually do 3 weeks.

I'm not a government worker or adjacent, but I think with the tariffs, lack of regulation and oversight in our food supply, infectious diseases, I foresee a recession and high unemployment. I could be laid off this year, too. I had an interview lined up yesterday, but they pulled back because of budget issues. I think that will be common this year.

Fed firings will have a ripple effect.
