The County has officially closed all turf fields today.

Its so warm out, it would be a great night for a winter practice if not for....piles of snow.

We have a schedule crunch tonight and I would like to know for certain as well.

Yes, I agree, not enough rain came last night to wash the snow away. There is still a lot of snow coving the grass and turf. Magic 8 Ball says it's looking doubtful.

It seems unlikely that all the snow will melt by 3 pm when they make the call on field closings.

Seems like you’re making assumptions but most people like to make alternate plans – maybe OP wants to go out to dinner instead or maybe kid has multiple obligations that evening.

life should not revolve around kids soccer schedule. seriously, missing one practice is not the end of the world.

Except we barely had any practices this winter at all. They finally reopened all fields last week and now this again.

I hope your DC is on a national team for his/her sake. Otherwise, poor kid…

Not previous poster but my dd has a tournament this weekend and there have been 3 practices since November. This is going to be fun.

That’s life. One that you now have the opportunity to impart.

If your DC hasn't been practicing on her own, then I'm going to assume she is not in a high level competitive league.

You really are insufferable. As much as you want to tout high level work on your own these are kids playing a game there is no "high level". My kid is 9 they did futsal. This is outdoors and it's a team sport.

What things did DC do on their own during the winter?

It will depend on how many inches you have, OP. We have 5 inches of wet snow - with rain on Wed and sun on Thur, it would all melt.

If your daughter is at the ID camp, you figure it out. You will get more info from them than here on DCUM
