I know it can be cold and rainy, and it's been a while since I've done this so who knows I'm probably wildly out of date, but I liked cheaper flights to London in March. You can luck out with a nice day or two, there's so much to do, and it is expensive but if your flights aren't bad it's not terrible.

Miami is awesome. I have been all over the world and what you need is an easy trip this late in the game and Econ speaking.
There's a lot of amazing places to see but you want a relaxing trip over that time frame. Just take 5 days and do S Beach or combine it with Islamoralda (not Key West will be too crowded).
If you weren't looking for really really warm weather I'd look at Chicago or even NYC/combined with stopping in various cool towns make like a road trips of sorts.
PR, the islands, CR will be too $$$. Arizona/N Mexico is great but hiking involved for best experiences there. You wouldn't think it but both New Orleans and Vegas have a lot of stuff now targeted to families. It's not just bring on the strip in Vegas and the shows are great usually there. I would save Europe for summer or winter. QC/Montreal is another opportunity,

We have a house there, and have a teen. Never bored.
Golf, tennis/pickleball, bike ride everywhere, time on the water, pool, general beach activities etc.
The vast majority of these activities can be done wherever you live (pickleball?!) and it’s too cold for water activities in April.
