It shouldn't be the norm. Every other district has the decency to post their open/closed status, ESPECIALLY when all other surrounding districts are closed. She can't even be bothered to let people know schools will be open? (If that is the case) It allows parents to stop worrying about whether or not they need to make alternate arrangements. It's the bare minimum of decency.
But if you just assume it's open unless you hear otherwise, you're set. Who cares if the other districts are closed? You know D.C. is open unless they say they're not. Easy.
You're missing the entire point. She doesn't have the .25 seconds it takes to post schools are open like every other district does. Just because you expect less doesn't mean that is what you deserve.
DCPS is like being in an abusive relationship.

I am so tired of this old trope. I'm a teacher and much of what gets served goes straight into the trash. I'm sorry to say this but it's true
THIS.

This is some BS because they send home food (my school did today) and places stay open to give out food (in the past we’ve done this).
So no it’s not about the kids. Bowser never got over her ‘embarrassment’ from the time we were off and there was no snow. She needs to be a bit tougher.
