That is plastic. I would avoid putting hot water in plastic.

No specks in your tea, it fits in pretty much any container I want to drink from, including my insulated to-go cup, and is very easy to clean -- you just dump the tea in the trash and wash it in the sink.
Compost, or even directly on your garden. If you have a neighbor who gardens, you can probably score some free produce in exchange for your spent tea and coffee grounds. These are garden GOLD!
