by the time you're pretty sure it's the flu sometimes it's already been 24 hrs and then you gotta line up a visit to test and confirm maybe see which kind. Its helped me only if I took it by 2nd day before 48 hrs. That's such a big deal otherwise if you're taking it after 3 days I mean you're gonna get better by 5th. DD kicked it at age 10 in 3 days. So it's all relative and I suppose it depends on your body everyone is different and hard to know unless you go through it. Anonymous wrote:Absolutely! Take it prophylactically, it works.
Paxlovid gave me I-cant-breathe rebound, but Tamiflu is great prophylactic. Taken after flu starts, however, I'm not sure if it worked for me at all.

She was miserable and opted to take it, vomited up the first dose, but kept down the others and was markedly better in 24 hours, seemed 100% by 48 hours. Seems a coin flip whether to take it or not. Is your DS old enough to make the decision?
