1. A generational plan for all Americans - by this I mean touting successes like the infrastructure plan and the ACA, as well as continuing to message on making the rich pay their fair share. And take a stand on something that will resonate, for God's sake, like making the Sacklers fund rehab centers in every community they peddled their poison in.

2. Promote equality, but pull back from the fringe rhetoric that is losing in the culture war. Really, it's ok to say that you don't understand the point of Drag Queen Story hour and leave it at that. Democrats were baited into the latest round of the culture war and they lost.

3. Ground game at all levels. And learn something about communication. Don't be afraid to punch back. Chuck Schumer should retire and never make another speech again.

You are assuming that Trump will allow midterm elections! He has already declared an economic emergency and that is one baby step away from martial law.

I pointed out in another thread that Hitler gained absolute power by destroying the civil service in Germany by getting rid of everyone and then putting in only those loyal to him and Trump is doing the same. Trump has essentially destroyed checks and balances. Only fools aren't terrified.

The first thing that they need to do is to stand up and call this administration out. Stop normalizing it as if these are sane measures that should be debated.

Half the reason we lost voters is that DNC leadership was fighting a fight that had passed them by. Stop treating maga leadership with respect and reverence that they don’t deserve.

This +100 AND stop focusing on abortion. And stop catering to the far-left extremists -- plus honestly it's common sense to really ensure everyone knows the difference between "sex" and "gender identity" - I'd be in favor of all IDs listing both Sex (two options of M/F) and Gender (M/F and X/Other)...that should make everyone happy.


Except that abortion as an issue is polling better than the Dem candidates themselves in many places... Note how in Florida the abortion question got more than 50% support, though Trump won the state and it's considered a very red state... If anything, I think many people don't like that abortion and trans issues are considered part of the same package by the Dems...

Np here. I appreciate your input, and we need more people like you to share that perspective. And then we need to listen to these perspectives and share them with our representatives.

The bolded part - I hear this so often - about liberal elitists who can’t relate to them. And then they vote for…Trump? An actual silver spoon baby who lives in a golden tower/golden country club? I don’t think he was once seen interacting with a middle/lower class person prior to bursting into politics. I can’t think of a less relatable person. Why isn’t he accused of being an elitist nearly as much as democrats who came from a more modest background and worked hard to get where they are?

You did not say whether you ever voted for him. Either way, perhaps you can share some perspective on this?

Mitch McConnell correctly predicted the 2022 red wave wouldn't happen due to the GOP's "candidate quality problem" during the Trump era. The Dems haven't had a legitimate POTUS primary since 2008 and that created a very obvious candidate quality problem by 2020.

Dem will compete for both the House and Senate in 2026 thanks to another unpopular GOP POTUS being in office. If there is an open and fair Dem primary in 2028, the pre-approved by the people Dem nominee won't present the quality problem and Dems will be heavily favored in the general election.

we have people STILL insisting that saying “person with a uterus” is crucial to protect trans rights. I honestly worry that Dems may not have learned anything. And now we know the actual consequences of being obsessed with being controlling moral scolds instead of actually addressing real issues.
