Yolo if you want to travel and your husband doesn’t, go without him. My mom travels all the time without my father. She does a lot of Back Roads trips or trips with friends.

I travel without my DW to go skiing with friends. DW hates the cold/snow. DW goes on a trip to a tropical location with girlfriends in the winter.

We have young kids. It’s nice to feel like an adult. Traveling with young kids is kinda terrible.

Was a SAHM (kids now all launched), and took kids places without dad on their different spring breaks. Have a girls weekend once a year. And, he has guys weekends too. And, we travel together without kids, and as a family. Much easier now that we are retired, and, I still have my girls weekend (it's a long weekend, usually Thurs - Mon)

I usually go on a girls trip without DH once a year, either with friends or with our daughter and my mom.

I’ve never used a tour group but my mom and her friends like Go Ahead Tours. They offer a single supplement for their trips.

Yes! We are an airline family so we are always on the go - together and apart. I’m at the airport right now waiting for a standby seat to TX to see a friend and husband is in Europe.

I have been on Intrepid travel trips 4 times, once with the single supplement. They were great and around our age group. They have good last min deals as well. Traveling alone and only worrying about your needs is a real gift.

Late 30s and my DH and I both do trips with our friends several times per year. We have young kids and do trips with them too, but those trips aren’t relaxing, so we each do long weekends away every few months. Golf for him and hiking for me.

I enjoy traveling with my husband but I did a solo trip last year and loved it. My husband is more of a home body and would be perfectly content to sit in the hotel room and read all day. I had so much fun just walking around the city, shopping, visiting coffee shops and restaurants…my last night, I dined solo at a restaurant I’d always wanted to go to but never could get a reservation and it was wonderful.

Yes, I take about 2 short weekend trips alone each year. Not girls trips, just traveling alone.

We travel extensively as a family--Asia, Europe, cruises, national parks, etc. and all love it but with 4 kids, including 3 ADHDers and a DH that doesn't like to actually plan any travel, I'm the constant "cruise director." I started to feel like while I love our family trips, I wanted to travel where I got to do what I wanted to do or even just relax. Plus, DH travels quite a bit for work.

So about 2 years ago, I started taking a few weekends for myself, and it is HEAVENLY. Eat when I want, see what I want, sleep when I want, etc. Highly recommend!

Many of us are posting that we do both but we want more trips than our spouses can join us on. Work and multiple kids make traveling complicated.
