My DD got a couple of pantsuits at old navy. They have a good selection of petites (online only, unfortunately), and their stuff has a good percentage of natural fiber content and doesn't require drycleaning, which is good for a kid living in a dorm.

They also have their pants sizes in curvy and regular, which helps some. They might also have tall. My DD is not tall so we haven’t looked for that.

One of my daughter’s favorite dresses from her internship (worn at 18) is an Ann Taylor. One piece, no zippers or buttons, fitted waist, never wrinkles, washable, almost like a light tee shirt material. Unique gathering at neckline and waist makes it modern.
