This thread is like a Time Machine, we’re back in the early days of the elite thread where Q1 parents were still holding out hope that ECNL would stay BY. Sorry, SY is a done deal at ECNL, only question is 8/1 or 9/1. The lower leagues also done deal on SY. GA still in play. Just saved you 400 pages of reading.

You may need to expand your vocabulary. This is for ALL of soccer and why would ECNL just assuming that is what you are referencing here have different rules for their THEIR different leagues? That just makes it harder for clubs.

NL meaning all teams that compete on the national platform, not just ECNL, GA and MLSN included will be BY because those are the kids who have the best chance of making USNT which selects using BY. RL meaning teams that play regionally like ECRL and similar levels like EDP or lower levels like NCSL and rec will be SY.

That's an even dumber explanation.

Haha, that's because you don't understand what's going on behind the scenes. The leagues wanted USSF to make a decision, instead they stepped back like cowards. Now the leagues are working together to coordinate a plan to ensure consistency and maintain a high level of play. The end result will be a hybrid of BY and SY based on level of play.

Maintain a high level?
Need to get to a place before you can maintain it.

If it ends of being a hybrid it will not be because leagues are working together. At least not the ones you mentioned.

That doesn’t make sense for the college recruiting or trapped players — unless those players aren’t (for sure) not playing hs.

Love it, let’s rehash this tired discussion.

This will suck for clubs that play in multiple leagues that will potentially have different age brackets for teams.

But of your son's league/ club does change, he could get a boost until puberty affects all kids and the relative age boost is gone in the middle of high school, then it won't really matter much.

Your club is just a minion.

Reads like wishful thinking
