That was a bad Atlantic article. And even the article actually admitted it had been in the works a lot longer than 53 days. The big takeaway for me was that Hitler first had to get rid of all the different factions in his own party - which does sort of seem to be happening. No Republicans are willing to stand up to him, even for things they truly believe.
