The tracking was helpful for me because I was able to see that when I ate certain foods (for example, yogurt for breakfast), it led to lower calorie consumption during the day vs. skipping breakfast. I had been intermittent fasting and waiting until noon to eat, but ended up eating more that way.

Those are the sort of patterns to look for - what foods help you towards your goals.
