We're in our 50s-60s. Ageism is a real thing.

Before that none of us had trouble finding jobs.

For us it's not the economy - it's what every generation goes through at that age. My parents' generation had the same issue.

NP and I saw this too. There's data that about 20% of job postings are fake. Part of it is companies that want to give the impression they are still growing and others want to collect resumes in case they see an exceptional candidate. Neither of these is a good reason to subject people to the misery of the job apication process when there isn't really a job to fill.
