I just book a non-stop flight to Europe for $800 over spring break. Deals are still out there, you just have to be savvy.

What dates are high? Spring Break varies. What dates are you seeing such high prices?

Weird, because people not this board start complaining every single winter how expensive it is to travel during spring break. It’s like they don’t realize it’s coming or something.

Yeah. We’re DCPS and ours has always been mid April when others tracked Easter. Wasn’t good for meeting up with other non DCPS families but much better for costs and crowds. Ours aligns with everyone this year and it’s a noticeable difference

Most airlines now allow you to cancel and rebook without a penalty. I know this works with Southwest, American and United.

I always track our flights on google flights just for this. It is also often better to book one ways in case one leg lowers its price.

+1. I recently rebooked flights on JetBlue that saved us nearly $2500 for a trip this Spring Break! The money was credited to my JetBlue account and not refunded, which I will put towards our Christmas break flights.

You are too late. When we travel over spring break, we book flights in August.

The good news is you can drive.

We found a great deal on a cruise and opted to drive to FL. We survived. We made it to Jacksonville in one day—left MoCo at 6am and pulled into the hotel by dinner time. We continued driving to the port further south the next day. It was easy.

I think there might be a small airline that flies from Hagerstown to Orlando. We never used it, but I know someone who used it years ago.

We’ve always driven to Orlando for WDW and Port Canaveral for cruises.

Yes. I wouldn’t count on that always working or even regularly working.

IT REALLY depends on when your spring break is too. Ours is the week before Easter. I just looked up flights to Orlando since the previous poster mentioned them. If I leave Sat April 11 the tickets are over 3K for our family. If we leave a week earlier? $1200. On google flights I can find tickets for $128 2 weeks before Easter but the week before Easter the lowest is $407.

Having your spring break tied to Easter is $$, but I know not all schools do that, even far out.
