+1. I also had amazing jobs and internships because it was easy to walk or metro to downtown DC offices. Was friends with kids at Georgetown and AU but they didn't like leaving campus. GW is for kids who are comfortable being integrated into city life.

lol who chooses GW over Georgetown? That is like saying choose Harvard over BU
DP.
What about "Go to Georgetown if you get in" don't you understand? And did you mean to switch the two colleges in your last sentence? Are you drunk/high on crack?
My point was, it was ridiculous advice. Obviously anyone would choose Georgetown over GW. The problem is Georgetown is very hard to get into, whereas GW is not. Your advice is comparable to... choose Harvard over BU. Yeah, no s*** sherlock.

My son is a sophomore at the Elliott School of International Affairs and loves it. GW is known for its IA offerings, and is ranked 6th in that general category in US News (I know, we all hate that algorithm). Georgetown School of Foreign Service, Columbia, and a few others are ranked above GW Elliott.
DS was rejected from Georgetown, which was his first choice, and gladly took GW's merit aid offer of 20K discount off the 85K sticker price, guaranteed for 5 years. Since he's specifically interested in International Affairs, he turned down UMD Honors (in-state), W&M Dual Degree Programme with St Andrews (85K), and a few others, the International Affairs offerings of which were less flexible and/or interesting to him.
