I definitely prefer Chinese or Indian or igbo names to American stripper names or American boring suburban white mom names. But maybe that's because I don't really find American stripper or suburban white mom types all that appealing.

My DH was almost named Oliver and I have told him that I would never have dated an Oliver. Especially in his case as he looked like Cousin Oliver when he was little.

I once had a really smart, really accomplished client whose first name was Bambi. I think when you get to know a person the name ceases to carry that much weight.

I used to work with an accountant named Honey. She was great, but her manager did ask her if he could call her by her middle name.

How did she take it?

I had an abusive ex and would struggle to date someone with his name. PTSD is real.

My dad and spouse have the same name, it does not bother me.

However, I hate my spouse's last name so I kept my own. But to be honest I would have kept my last name regardless.

If I ever meet a woman who thinks like this imbecile I hope she tells me this nonsense. I'll dump her as fast as I can. You are truly one idiotic woman.

It's funny you say that because I went to an international school in Africa and they were a few Americans among us. As easy as you think American names sound we had so much trouble spelling them and found some of the names weird too.

I'd have a tough time dating someone with the same name as my ex, but might be able to get over it.

Huh? No. I thought you were going to say the name in question was your siblings name or your abusers name or something. Just a name you don’t like? Not a problem.
