I dated a 36 year old at her age. He wanted to get married, I didn’t. I definitely felt our age difference sometimes but it wasn’t a huge deal. Its not really so unusual.

This is the age gap between my husband and me. I always dated older. Men closer to "my age" felt so unfinished, too poor and too much work.

It’s going to blow up the office culture. Someone is going to get fired, transferred, or quit. If it goes anywhere, half the office will disrespect the guy as a creep and disrespect OP DD as pathetic.

No but both of them highly prioritized work and I think she feels that this represents more than it does. I believe she has never has a boyfriend. This will manifest in her WFH for the near future in some kind of act of protest

I got married at 25 (we were both employed, post grad school). I have no issue with the age difference here. Plus this is a crush, not a relationship! Are we policing thoughts now?

However, relationship with a decade+ older senior colleague seems acceptable to them. That's kind of surprising!

When I was in my twenties I dated guys in their thirties and forties. IME they were pretty much only with me for my looks/youth and we ended up not sharing enough cultural touch points that something longer-term wasn’t interesting. No harm, but not a lot of potential. That said, my aunt is married to a man 10ish years older than she is and they’ve been together for decades, have kids and a good life. To each their own!

I don’t see the issue. First of all, it’s a crush, so it might not go anywhere. Second, even if it did, she’s an adult, not a teenager, and 35 is not exactly old.

I mean at 26 my sis in law had a baby with a guy who was 52 (no, he didn't have money, no he wasn't a well preserved 52, yes he did have kids older than her), so.... could be just so much worse.
