If you only want to see old churches and palaces, then probably not. I was in Milan for a day and wish I had at least another day. Loved visiting Villa Necchi and walking around residential side streets. Didn't have time to go get drinks around the canal.

I'd say Milan is worth spending more time in if you appreciate more of a local vibe. And if you genuinely enjoy stuff like fashion, design, architecture. But if you want to hit the standard classic art and churches, then no.

Two things made our quick stay in Milan amazing:

1. we stayed in the Townhouse hotel that’s in the galleria (mall). Incredible balcony and views and the windows have like five panes of glass so you can shut out the noise.

2. Lining up for Luinis panzerotti (turnovers)

I love, love lake como in the off season.

Agree that Milan is kind of bland. Disagree that it’s “superior to any city in the U.S.”. I’ll take NYC anytime over Milan.

PP here. Meant to include San Francisco too, which is my favorite U.S.city. Nothing wrong with Milan…though is s bit boring. San Fran has more interesting sites, attractions, scenery and even better food.

Verona is pretty easy. It's touristy but still a fun place to wander around.
