Just paid $1.99/dozen at Harris Teeter. Plenty in stock. You do need a loyalty card.

A dozen organic extra large free range eggs are under 5.99 at Moms market. Where on earth do you shop?

I think it's funny someone thinks the solution to egg prices is to spend thousands of dollars building a coop in their back yard.

And I say this as someone whose grandma had a farm. Have you ever actually cleaned chicken waste? It stinks. Chickens get health issues and need vet care like anyone else. Sometimes they get stuck eggs and you have to help them. Some chickens are jerks and will try to scratch you a lot. And lots of different things can kill them.

We have tons of foxes around here, so you better build that coop very securely.

Chickens aren't free eggs machines.

Even at the farmers market they are only $6.

I find jumbo eggs for $3-4 all the time and that is no shortage. Perhaps shop smarter instead of making dumb suggestions to solve problems that do not exist.

South Mountain Creamery is $5.50 per dozen for extra large eggs. They deliver.

I would like to buy $10.99 eggs, because I have money to burn.

BS, there are no egg shortages (except when there's snow in the forecast, then we are also out of bread and milk!). OP is a troll and you all fell for it

Look into egg substitutes to use temporarily, if you can't afford these eggs.

Yes, this person is going to start the next global pandemic because they are upset about the price of free range organic eggs.

OP must be shopping for gold-plated ostrich eggs at Tiffany's or something.

I get pasture raised eggs at Trader Joe’s for $6.
That’s 50c an egg. So a 2 egg omelette with some veggies and some shredded cheese is about $3. That’s pretty cheap considering the nutrition it’s giving you.
Eggs are not expensive.

Can you gift them and ask for "donation for feed cost."

Absolutely no relation, OP, but I do want my own hen coop in my backyard. Currently not allowed due to the narrow shape of my lot. I don't have the necessary setbacks from the property line.

More crime will be egg prices down too!

It’s true, we should have light chicken density instead of putting them all in one place. If all of your neighbors had a few chickens it would be a lot better than keeping them on a farm with the economies of scale, specialty equipment, feed storage, and transportation. I’m sure that they will just ride the bus.
