The Democrats no longer believe this is in the best interests of the country.
They thought it was very important in 2022 and 2023.
I'm not sure what happened but they stopped believing this recently.

The Supreme Court will get younger in the next 4 years. I'm sure the old conservatives will be pressured to retire. Thomas may just be cast out for his indiscretions. Sotomayor has some significant health issues. Perhaps Trump decided to pack the court.
Alito and Thomas are going to retire to cushy of counsel positions or emeritus positions.
Sotomayor is going to try to hold on, but we are going to be white knuckling it a bit.
Thomas loves power more than money and he loves sticking it to Democrats. Roberts isn't going to do anything about Thomas's lack of ethics so he will stay on the court and continue to take from his billionaire pals.
Thomas has never been the swing vote on any decision.
He could make 10 times what he makes now in the private sector.

Trump would never try to pack the Court with more than nine. That was purely a Democrat plan.
