Since I am a Parkland parent, I don’t know much about Wood, but since it supposedly stands as the only middle school in the Rockville High School cluster, it seems like most kids are going to know each other for a good amount of 6 years in both Wood and Rockville, though I heard Rockville is a pretty rough high school.

Missing half of 6th grade—the first year of MS—and all of 7th grade must have been rough.

Lol, not really. My kid also graduated from MCPS last year and he didn’t like middle school, so he doesnt regret COVID changing his MS life.

I didn’t like MS either. I guess covid 1.5 year shutdown would have been a good development.

Current Rockville HS mom….Wood really is the weak link in the cluster.

I have mixed thoughts with both principals at Wood and Rockville.

Rockville principal is much better than wood. There’s been a ton of long time teachers who have left wood recently.

+ 1

Though Wood’s principal has been there for almost 8 years now, Rockville’s only 3 years now.

I’d compare Argyle and Parkland instead.

You might want to create a new thread since this one is about Wood and Patkland.

Very true. Wood was okay for my 3 kids but definitely not stellar. Rockville High has been great. I cannot wait until my 8th grader moves on. Feels like we’ve kind of just been biding time at Wood. I have no experience with Parkland.

My son finished Wood back in 2019, though we did not go to Rockville High. I never heard about any negative experiences at Wood, so what happened?
